SUMMER SCHOLARS PROGRAM

APPLICATIONS OPEN EACH SPRING SEMESTER

The Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation Summer Scholars Program connects Johns Hopkins graduate students and city halls to advance public innovation and grow the next generation of civic leaders.

Through 10-week paid internships from June to August, students and city hall teams collaborate to drive public innovation efforts that address resident needs and priorities. Project topics range from climate change adaptation to public health and civic engagement.

Contact the BCPI Academic Practice with questions or for more information.

Summer 2024 applications open each spring semester for full time Johns Hopkins graduate students. To apply for Summer Scholar placement, please visit the JHU SMILE portal and search for “BCPI”.

Visit Public Innovation News to learn about the 2023 Summer Scholars, their city hall projects, and their new perspectives on careers in city halls.
