Last week, we spent several days at CityLab, hosted by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Aspen Institute. We had the special opportunity to co-host the Chief Innovators Studio and several other events with global mayors and government leaders. It was incredible to reconnect and truly be inspired by all that has been achieved in the public innovation movement – and the public sector at large – during the last decade. With all the challenges before us daily, it offered a moment to pause, reflect and learn from others as we look ahead.
As we celebrate the one-year launch anniversary of the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University, I want to thank you for your partnership in helping us succeed as well as the ingenuity and creativity you bring to this work. The field of government innovation is expanding and now includes leaders with a range of different backgrounds, work histories, and perspectives that are helping to drive the future of the public sector. We believe the diversity of thought in our work is directly correlated with the innovations we are seeing in cities.
Once again, thank you for helping us make the past year so successful. I look forward to growing this network and building support for you and your work in the years to come. Please reach out with ideas and stay tuned for more exciting opportunities on the horizon.
Onward,
– Amanda Daflos, Executive Director
